I recently had the pleasure of creating a beautiful Lariat style necklace in 18ct Rose Gold with an heirloom Pink Star Sapphire. 

Our customer brought the stone in with just a vague idea of the design. Together we sourced example images and past work and collaborated to choose the metal and the necklace length to the customers preference. 

Here is where we were looking at the stone with a White Gold or Rose Gold chain. In the end they chose 18ct Rose Gold, which really paired well with the pink stone, it created a beautiful warmth to the piece. As you may be able to see in the photo above, the stone was an uneven cut, but our setter did an amazing job with balancing the stone in the setting.
