Faceted Bead Necklaces

Faceted Bead Necklaces

If you know our brand there is a good chance you have seen our Facet Bead Necklaces around. One of our classic pieces, we have been running this style every season for a few years now - each season re-working the design in fresh new colours and finishes. It really is a great gift for the statement jewellery lover, and we find it hard not to want every new colourway for ourselves!

This seasons piece features some moody winter hues and a clear gloss finish.

Originating as a hand sketch, we designed these beads from scratch and you won't find this unique jewellery shape anywhere else! After a CAD sketch our original facet bead was 3D printed to provide the foundation for a wax cast, to create the first bead. We have been casting these necklaces from this initial bead ever since. Our beads are cast in spun copper, so they have a lovely weight to them. Each necklace is then hand strung on vegetable tanned leather and length is adjustable.

Every season we consider how we might style this piece for our range. We paint up colour chips in our studio to make sure that when the pieces are sand blasted and powder coated the colours are spot on. Over the seasons we have played with different finishes including matt, clear gloss coating and sanding the edges to give the beads their worn facet look.

To care for your copper beads, we recommend keeping your jewellery in it's original packaging when not being worn and avoiding letting your pieces get wet for an extended amount of time. With matt pieces, eventually the colour can rub off, mostly on the raised surfaces. What you will get is the beautiful pinkish tones of the natural copper peaking through. We have designed the beads to do this and we think that the copper is a feature. Like a well-worn leather jacket, your necklace will share the marks of your travels.

You may also find that after extended wear your copper surfaces may dull, develop some discolouration or a patina. This will take much longer on our clear coated gloss pieces. We tend to like this aged look, but if you'd love to see your copper bright and shiny again, try rubbing your beads with some lemon juice on a tea towel. We find this to be a sure fire trick to bring back that shine!

Pair With: This piece looks great with anything in rose gold like our crimped hex studs or hanging ogee earrings
